Gianluca the captain
Gianluca is originally from Calabria in the southern part of Italy but is growing up in Milano. He started his nautical experience as sailorman in Sardinia at the end of 90s and among the blue waters of Mediterranean Sea he achieved the master’s nautical license after two summer seasons working there. After a short training period, he took the command of a cutter boat 18 mt long based in La Maddalena in Sardinia, for 4 years. Later on he moved to Aeolian Islands in Sicily, where he worked for charter companies on different boat types: sloop 16 mt long and gulet boats 24 mt long. He crossed the Atlantic Ocean with departure from Canary Islands to arrive in Barbados, on board of a cutter 18 mt long, called Ocean 65. With this kind of boat, he remained in the Caribbean for 6 months, working for charter cruising with Italian guests, mostly in the area of Grenadines. After returning to Europe, leaving from Martinica and arriving in Balearic Islands, he gave back to boat to the shipowner and he started his new experience on Lake Garda. He worked several seasons on Lake Garda, on sailing boats and motorboats too. Since last year 2022, he’s part of our team, the proud and passionate Captain of “Siora Veronica” saling ship.
